Personal details

I am a Principal Researcher at IMSI, Athena Research Center in Greece. I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science from NTU of Athens, under the supervision of Prof. Timos Sellis in 2014. Since then, I have been involved in several EU and national ICT projects involving big data management, scholarly knowledge representation and management, scientometrics, research analytics, and bioinformatics. I have served as a member of the program or organising committee for several CS conferences and workshops, and as a guest editor in special issues of well-established journals. I have been teaching courses in undergraduate and postgraduate levels in academic institutions in Greece and Cyprus.

Personal statement

My work focuses on scientific data and knowledge management. My research initially addressed data and challenges in the life sciences, but over time it has shifted toward scientometrics and the domain-agnostic applications of scientific knowledge graphs. I enjoy combining basic and applied research, having published a large number of scientific articles and designed and supervised the development of several platforms that provide services to the wider research community, most notably the BIP! Services suite (https://bip.imsi.athenarc.gr/site/home).
